Director: SALAH ISSAAD
I was born in Algeria to an Algerian mother and a Tunisian father. My parents have been publishers for four decades, which naturally led to my interest in popular literature. After obtaining my baccalaureate diploma in Algeria, I had the chance to study cinematography in France (Paris and Lyon). I had to meet many challenges by participating in different projects, as a screenwriter, director or producer.
I always try to find inspiration in my culture of origin, in the environment in which I live but also through my experiences and my encounters. During a trip to Algeria a few years ago, I had the chance to meet Soula Bahri. I saw her facing enormous social pressure as a single mother when she was still a minor. I was moved by her story and wanted to share it.
