Arezki Larbi is an Algerian artist, scenographer, author and filmmaker, born on 23 February 1955 in Bouira. From 1978 to 1982 he attended the School of Fine Arts in Algiers, taking as the theme of his dissertation « le tatouage en Algérie » and in 1982 began to exhibit in Algeria. In 1991 and 1992 he stayed at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. Back in Algeria, Arezki Larbi works as a press cartoonist, creates from 1995 the scenography of several plays and then, for the cinema, the sets and costumes notably of “Machaho” (1995) and “El Manara” (2004) by Belkacem Hadjadj, “La Montagne de Baya” by Azzeddine Meddour (1997), “Morituri” by Okacha Touita (2004). He has also illustrated a number of books and is directing his first short film WINNA “The other” in 2019.
